Reliable numbers for sound decisions

IM-OAK Group handles the accounting and tax advice of companies that are not satisfied with bare compliance. We close the books on time, explain what the statements say and give notice of what is coming.

What we take care of

  • Contabilidade organizada (full accounting regime) and regime simplificado (simplified regime)
  • IVA (Portuguese VAT), IES (simplified corporate information return), Modelo 22, IRS (personal income tax) and withholding tax
  • Payroll and employment obligations
  • Financial statements and management reporting
  • Tax advice and planning through the financial year

Services

Accounting that serves management, not only the tax authority

Filing the returns is the minimum. What sets the service apart is the information left available to whoever has to decide: margin by activity, weight of the cost structure, predictable cash position and a tax charge known before the year end.

Accounting

Full bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and a monthly close with a commented trial balance.

  • Contabilidade organizada
  • Regime simplificado
  • Reconciliations and statutory accounts

Tax advice

Tax treatment, review of transactions and planning within what the law allows.

  • IVA and IRC (corporate income tax) treatment
  • Intra-Community transactions
  • Applicable tax benefits

Payroll

Payslips, holiday schedules, filings with Segurança Social (Portuguese social security) and support in applying employment law.

  • Payslips
  • Hirings and terminations
  • Staff records and workplace accident insurance

Management reporting

Monthly indicators and financial statements in a format that can be read without accounting training.

  • Profit and loss account
  • Cash flow schedule
  • Profitability indicators

Company formation

Support from the choice of legal form through to the start of activity and the first obligations.

  • Choice of legal form
  • Start of activity
  • Registration and initial obligations

Property sector

Accounting for development, letting and estate agency, with the tax treatment specific to the activity.

  • Development and refurbishment
  • Letting and alojamento local (licensed short-term rental)
  • Capital gains and IMT (property transfer tax)

The Group

Group companies and holdings

Beyond the accounting and advisory activity, IM-OAK Group holds interests in estate agency, asset management and digital platform companies. Each one operates under its own brand and with its own team.

About

A structure built to follow growth

IM-OAK Group grew out of the accounting practice and extended into sectors where financial information is decisive: property, asset management and digital services. That proximity explains the way we work, closer to management than to the filing of documents.

The typical client is the small or medium company that needs its accounts closed on time, a contact who answers, and advance warning whenever something calls for a decision.

Diagnosis

Review of the current accounting and tax position, outstanding obligations and applicable regime.

Transition

Collection of the records from the previous accountant and validation of the filings already submitted.

Monthly routine

Monthly close, commented trial balance and early warning on obligations and deadlines.

Year end

Statutory accounts, filing of the annual returns and a review meeting.

Experience

More than 20 years of experience

The accounting and tax work of IM-OAK Group is the responsibility of José Carlos Carvalho, Contabilista Certificado no. 75938, a member of the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados since 2003. That is more than twenty years of practice with companies and sole traders, in sectors with demands of their own, and it is what makes it possible to see early what usually goes wrong and to deal with it before it reaches the Autoridade Tributária.

Shall we talk about your accounts?

A first conversation, with no commitment, is enough to understand the tax position, the volume of documents and the obligations under way. The proposal follows in writing.
